Technology Word Searches Games
Technology is everywhere we go. Everywhere you turn there is some new technology gadget, software or internet service available. It seems like technology is here to stay. For teachers looking for some technology games to play with their students, check out this list of technology-word searches.
Technology Word Search puzzles are an exciting new technology twist on an old game that has been enjoyed by families for centuries. In Technology Word Search, the kids must input words into the search box by selecting them from a virtual grid of square boxes. The player is challenged not to miss words because they appear in either the up or down direction. Give it a try to see just how many of these technology words you can locate in this exciting free puzzle game.
The first technology word search puzzle we will look at is one called Abalone in the Basement. Students will line up the boxes in the shape of an “A” to “B” starting at the left and working clockwise to the right. When all the squares are filled, the person who finds the most words in the shortest time wins.
In the second technology word search, students will use the shape of words rather than the actual letters in those words. They will be asked to put together words that have the same shape and space in between. Again, there is an element of technology in play here since the letters can be turned into the shapes required by the puzzle. There are nine different shapes to choose from. When all of the squares are filled, the player whose square is closest to the winning line wins.
The final technology word search, we will look at is called E P N L Word Search puzzles. In this game, there are two panels to choose from. One panel contains a list of words that you want to find. The other panel will contain a number that you will need to fill in to narrow down your search.
You have a list of words, A-Z, starting with A, B, C, D, E, F, G, J, K, L, and N. Write down all the words in that order on your A-Z list. Your goal is to find as many words as possible in the correct sequence, backwards, in order, and with direction from left to right. You will have to find words in the diagonal direction, starting with X over Y, through the diagonal, and to the right of your starting line. Be careful not to confuse your technology word searches with a crossword or a Scrabble word search!
Now, when you are looking at your words in the correct sequence, you must carefully go back over your list and try to find the same words in the opposite diagonal direction, also in the correct order, using your A-Z list. The words in this pattern are again A-Z, however, they are reversed. For instance, instead of A, you would have to look at B, and C, or D, or E, or F. Now, if you try this on your technology word search puzzle, it is very likely that you will come up with the words you are seeking.
Try it today, and see for yourself just how effective these technology-based puzzles are. They can save a lot of time, as well as frustration. I know I do! It was fun learning how to do them, and I am sure I will continue to use technology-based puzzle techniques in my everyday life, as well as my work!
