Technology Timeline – An Overview
Let’s explore what is happening on our technology timeline. What kind of things are we capable of doing today that we couldn’t do ten years ago, or even five years ago? (This question may also apply to supercomputers and singularity technology.)
The first key dates on our technology timeline are when computer hardware was first manufactured. Decades ago, the IBM Model M was the first computer to use microprocessors. In comparison, the IBM Model Z, with its 80-bit magnetic storage system, is the first personal computer to use a terabyte hard drive.

For example, let’s look at how personal computers evolved from the first electronic typewriter to the earliest pc.
